Community Outreach to Diversity Organizations

All Faith Consortium (AFC) is an ecumenical faith-based organization, headquartered in our Nations Capitol, serving citizens in the Washington Metropolitan area and in several major cities around the country. AFC has earned a reputation as a community leader in developing programs and facilitating solutions to help empower impoverished families and individuals to become self- sufficient.

ARCH remains dedicated to ensuring that youth, adults and families have the tools they need to live independently. Traditionally, this has been accomplished through programs aimed at providing educational enhancement and skills training that result in livable wage jobs.

The Chesapeake Center for Youth Development, a charitable 501(c) organization founded in 1974, strives to help youth achieve developmental and educational milestones. The Hollywood Diner and South Baltimore Career Center are the major components of CCYD's job training and employment program. They offer comprehensive job readiness training, career evaluation, skill training opportunities, internships and job placement to young people facing range of barriers to living productive lives.

CAN's mission is to work in partnership with the community to develop, operate and support programs that reduce vulnerability and promote personal growth, stability and self sufficiency among low-income residents.

The Coalition for the Homeless is a non-profit organization that has served the Washington metropolitan area since 1980. Its mission is to help homeless, at-risk individuals and families return to self-sufficiency and independent living, through a range of residential and social services.

The Employment Support Center is geared to instruct and guide individuals through networking and one-on-one sessions to help them acquire the skills needed to quickly gain interviews, interview successfully and be offered the job!

GenesisJobs is a non-profit partnership of 500 companies, 80 faith communities, and volunteers providing compassionate support to unemployed adults in their search for entry-level, non-professional jobs in metropolitan Baltimore. Our mission is to guide men and women along their personal paths by helping them seek, find, and keep suitable, fulfilling employment. These men and women desire good work but lack adequate education, work skills, experience, and access to opportunities. Since its inception in 1985, GenesisJobs has helped over 3500 people find jobs.

The mission of the Housing Opportunities Commission is to provide affordable housing and supportive services that enhance the lives of low- and moderate-income families and individuals throughout Montgomery County, Maryland so that: No one in Montgomery County is living in substandard housing; We strengthen families and communities as good neighbors; We establish an efficient and productive environment that fosters trust, open communication and mutual respect; We work with advocates and providers to maintain support for all the work of the Commission.

JSSA, the Jewish Social Service Agency, strives to be the preeminent coordinator and provider of a broad range of clinical and social services for individuals and families residing in the greater Washington metropolitan area who seek help with life's many challenges. Our wide range of counseling, educational and career services, in-home support, hospice and nursing care and social services are provided by our highly skilled and caring staff of mental health and nursing professionals. JSSA assists more than 22,000 people a year, from the very young to the very old.

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth. Our "learning by doing" education programs emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and ecology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, elevating self-esteem, and fostering multicultural exchange.

Service Coordination helps adults and children with developmental disabilities get the services that allow them to fulfill their goals in life. Service Coordination works with people with developmental disabilities who are receiving services funded by the Maryland State Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and people who are applying for DDA services. All of the individuals we serve are referred to us by the Developmental Disabilities Administration.

The mission of South Baltimore Learning Center is to improve the self-sufficiency of educationally disadvantaged adults. SBLC is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training, in addition to career preparation services, to residents in the Baltimore Area.

It is the mission of the Community Center at St. Frances Academy to distinguish itself in the city of Baltimore as a forward thinking, challenging, embracing and holistic place of service. The Community Center takes the “e” in St. Frances of Rome’s name seriously. It stands for the responsibility and privilege to educate, edify, empower and entertain our God given neighbors of every race, age, religion and economic background. The Community Center seeks to represent the founding vision and spirit of Mother Mary Lange and the Oblate Sisters of Providence in these times.

Sarah's Hope, created through a partnership between the St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore, Abraham's Tent Coalition, and Baltimore County, is a day resource center for families and women experiencing homelessness. Co-located with an emergency night shelter at the Eastern Family Resource Center in northeastern Baltimore County, Sarah's Hope provides comprehensive services for our most vulnerable citizens. These services address basic needs while also fostering hope and promoting self-sufficiency.

UCM is a private, non-profit, community-based social service agency. Our mission is to assist families and individuals to improve the quality of their lives in a manner that builds their self-esteem and fosters their ability to function at the greatest level of their capacity - socially, economically and emotionally.
