The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking an Administrator, Microsoft System, for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Starting base salary = $100,000 - $125,000 (commensurate with related experience).

The Administrator, Microsoft System designs, implements, maintains, and optimizes Microsoft solutions for the association. This position ensures the successful deployment and operation of M365 services, including but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Rooms, OneDrive for Business, and security and compliance features. The position collaborates closely with the IT Cybersecurity team and other stakeholders to design and implement Microsoft solutions that meet the evolving needs of the association. In addition, the Administrator contributes to incident management and resolution as it relates to the scope of these systems; provides remote or hands on support to customers; researches issues that are complex in nature, and works with other IT staff and external service providers to conduct root cause analysis for complete issue resolution.

  1. Administers, coordinates, maintains, and monitors AHA's M365 platform and applications, certificate services, and other related systems, as well as their security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability.
  2. Ensures the stability, security, and scalability of on-premise and Azure-based Windows systems, including on-premise Active Directory/Entra and custom virtual infrastructure.
  3. Performs system analysis, including consulting with users and application of industry knowledge, to determine functional requirements for new systems and system enhancements.
  4. Develops, tests, and implements advanced M365 functions and features, including Teams Rooms, to meet organization needs.
  5. Provides technology oversight on medium to large projects in the IT Infrastructure area that relate to Microsoft applications and the network.
  6. Resolves Tier II and Tier III Service Desk tickets as they are escalated from other teams.
  7. Develops and deploys Group Policies that align with AHA's security posture as well as enhance end user workflows.
  8. Administers network components (switches, firewalls, routers) as needed to ensure reliability, compatibility, security, and availability.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelors of INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT (required)

Experience
5 - 7 years: Exp designing, implementing, managing, supporting MS 365 suite in enterprise environment. Collab w/cross-functional teams that manage network infrastructure, cybersec, apps, databases, SaaS solutions. Azure infrastructure design, implementation, monitoring. Exp w/remote system mgmt tools (SCCM, Intune, Autopilot) for managing IDs, applications, devices. Troubleshoot on-prem AD/Entra, Windows Srvrs, Exchg, Azure required. Networking: DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, HTTP(S) preferred. (required)
