The LISS Assistant, under the direction of the LISS Manager, will support the LISS program in accordance with the LISS policy and procedures and in a manner which promotes the mission of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend training as necessary and applicable to LISS
  • Work knowledge of all applicable regulations and policies in reference to LISS
  • Open all LISS mail and sort
  • Creates, maintains and organizes files with all necessary documentation in a 5 section folder for each LISS applicant
  • Copy bank statements and credit card statements and file into the appropriate applicant folder
  • Communicate with appropriate contacts from DDA regarding LISS
  • Follow up with all phone calls and/or emails in a professional manner within one business day
  • Represent the LISS program and DDA in a professional manner as needed at Community Application Assistance Sessions
  • Document all correspondence with individuals, families, resource coordinators, and/or vendors in the appropriate applicant file
  • Work closely with individuals and families to ensure coordination of the service requested
  • Assist individuals and families with the LISS application process
  • Maintain confidentiality of all individual records and transactions, ensuring compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma/ G.E.D.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Acceptable criminal background.
  • Valid Driver's License with 2 yrs. of consecutive driving experience.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Drug Screen/ Physical/ Mantoux Test (PPD, TB).
