JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an organized, eager, and ambitious individual to join the Technical Operations Department as a Scheduling Coordinator. The Scheduling Coordinator will execute the daily departmentwide scheduling management system and will work closely with colleagues, staff, freelancers, and management. The Scheduling Coordinator will schedule technical crews across various Fox News Media networks and programs in a 24/7 breaking news environment. You will also act as a liaison between operation supervisors, tech managers and producers, and staff in coordinating technical program coverage for all Fox News Media networks.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate weekly production schedule for technical operators (staff & freelancers)

  • Update and manage work schedules daily and implement last-minute changes

  • Assist in the coordination of monthly tech ops time off requests via WorkDay and the Advance Booking Calendars

  • Answer sick calls from tech ops and coordinate coverage for shifts

  • Work closely with tech managers and supervisors by communicating daily crewing needs

  • Communicate with producers when needed to update changes in daily work schedules

  • Work closely with the scheduling manager to coordinate open shifts and implement new program changes

  • Respond to daily production requests utilizing internal systems for pretapes, rehearsals, program location changes, etc.

  • Respond to breaking news events as needed

  • Maintain the Xytech/Mediapulse scheduling system by utilizing the technology software updates

  • Occasional on-call duties

  • Perform special projects/duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree in television production or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of television production and technical crew positions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups/levels in an organization

  • Effective communicator with strong phone etiquette including writing skills

  • Excellent computer application skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong conflict/resolution skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

  • Must be highly organized, mature, and a self-starter who works well with people

  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends to meet 24/7 operational needs
