Summary

Support the Facilities Maintenance group in order to ensure continuous operational availability and provide a safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure electrical reliability through proper planning and maintenance of the electrical sub-systems.
  • Coordinate commissioning with the City of Chattanooga as required.
  • Support 3rd party service provider to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate all power outages for the site.
  • Review all new connected load for system capacity and balance.
  • Support the Construction Team with electrical specifications, inspections and commissioning of new systems.
  • Periodic reporting of electrical demand and support projects to reduce overall demand.
  • Provide support to ensure compliance with local, state and federal electrical codes as the Plant Master Electrician.
  • Identify and implement energy efficient solutions
  • Troubleshoot facilities electrical issues (compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC, substations, bus plugs, electrical panels, etc.)
  • Additional support tasks as assigned to ensure facility uptime.
  • Coordinate team of on-site contract electricians to ensure electrical systems are maintained, troubleshoot and repair electrical issues and support small project work for cost savings
  • Act as a liaison with EPB & TVA resources regarding all Switchyard work or other site work requiring their support.
Qualifications

Required

  • 5+years job related experience
  • Has/Able to obtain City of Chattanooga Journeyman Electrician License
  • Experience with SQ-D transformers, masterpack breakers, busways and bus plugs.
  • Background on utility tracking for electrical power.
  • Experience working with HV systems in an industrial environment
  • Facilities start-up and controls systems debug

Preferred

  • 4 year degree in electrical engineering
  • Implementation of engineering changes
  • Knowledge on Johnson Controls, Schneider/SquareD ION Enterprise
  • PLC background and experience with Siemens and Schneider/SquareD controls systems.
  • Hands on experience with boilers, chillers and HVAC
  • Project management experience
