Job Description

The Department of Defense (DOD), Office of Inspector General (OIG), established in 1982 by the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, DOD OIG is an independent, agency that conducts oversight and identifies, deters, and detects fraud, waste, and abuse in DOD operations and programs. The investigative arm of the DOD OIG is the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) that works closely with law enforcement agencies to conduct criminal investigations of matters critical to DOD property, programs, and operations with an emphasis on life, safety, and readiness.

The importance of the DOD OIG oversight work is signified by the enormity of the Department's mission, the numerous assets that DOD utilizes to accomplish its mission, the magnitude of the $600 billion budget, and the over 3 million personnel who are part of the DOD family. The DOD OIG's oversight work balances the needs and requests of both the DOD and Congress. The purpose of this contract effort is intended to acquire various levels of support to assist each of the components accomplish prospective activities.

The ISN DoD OIG IT Contract Support Services Information Management Administrator, will provide onsite professional support to help organize, maintain, use, retrieve and control electronic records and information created within an unclassified NIPRNet network and classified SIPRNet and JWICS networks as a result of OIG business activities, and transactions. All tasks shall be performed using federal best practices, following established guidelines, and complying with federal, DoD, and OIG policy.

Task areas overseen include information science, records management, and information management support, including organizing and searching for information on all OIG networks, as well as.

Qualifications

Areas of required experience include: Providing support for development, implementation, and utilization of OIG's classification scheme and associated file plans and records schedules and ensure related records meet all compliance requirements. Identifying, document, and provide input to IGD management to improve the quality of the program relating to organizing and continuously identifying information as records, retrieving, preserving, and disposing records in accordance with Federal laws, regulations, and DoD policies. Providing support for specific requests for information by searching, locating, retrieving, and delivering records and information by following established procedures and security protocols that protect the integrity and confidentiality of information. Providing support for documenting and preserving metadata that explains how electronic records were created, used, and managed. Assisting in the appraisal and analysis of information for retention and records scheduling purposes. Performing tasks supporting the implementation of OIG's records retention schedule, including but not limited to physically managing boxes. Providing support for organizing, normalizing, and cleanup of duplicates and redundant obsolete and trivial files found withinshared-drives and Microsoft SharePoint sites. Providing the OIG with recommendations to support reduction of paper records and promote practical solutions for generating electronic records vice paper records.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Experience with DoD document classification

Must pass and maintain Active DoD Secret clearance throughout the life of the contract.

Bachelors degree in cybersecurity or business administration. Master degree preferred.
