JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help measure, monitor, improve and develop/apply best practices and automation to our applications and infrastructure supporting media workflows and broadcast events such as MLB World Series, NFL, College Football, World Cup and the Super Bowl. The SRE team will work closely with multiple teams and disciplines across the enterprise to conceptualize, build and integrate solutions and services to support the challenging real-time requirements of the media/broadcast business. ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have a background in software engineering and a passion for continuous improvement, bringing these to bear to solve operations problems. Media and/or broadcast experience are a huge plus. We are looking for strong written and in-person communication and a self-starter that can identify and solve problems early on

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be in an on-call rotation to respond to critical outages outside of normal business hours

• Design, build and manage/maintain software solutions, platforms and testing frameworks to increase system reliability and organizational efficiency

• Work with teams to help implement self-healing and instrumentation/monitoring solutions

• Automate alerting and remediation workflows

• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions to prevent problem recurrence

• Review system designs to eliminate failure points/bottlenecks and ensure adherence to best practices

• Create and update documentation to facilitate cross-training and troubleshooting

• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 3+ years experience in software development (Python, Java, Go, .Net)

• 3+ years experience working with AWS

• 3 years experience working with automation/config management tools such as Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Spinnaker, etc.

• 2+ years experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk, etc

• Passion for continuous improvement and automation

• Flexibility to deal with shifting priorities and wide spectrum of project management styles

• Terraform

• Git and pull requests

• Jenkins or comparable deployment automation

• ServiceNow

• Building and distributing software libraries/SDKs

• Configuration management (Chef, Ansible, etc)

• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks

• GCP experience

• Bachelor's in a related field is preferred
